A series of new firearm laws will go into effect in Texas next month — further loosening gun restrictions in a state that’s had four of the 10 deadliest mass shootings in modern US history. The laws — passed before a gunman massacred 22 people and injured dozens in El Paso last weekend — will make it easier to have guns in a state with some of the most lax weapons restrictions in…

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources released a new hunting rule last week banning urine-based scents, taking away an important hunting tool used by many successful hunters every year.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of false and misleading information driving policy and regulations regarding urine-based scents being a risk for spreading CWD.  The impact of banning these products on hunters and businesses, both small and large…

They’re both figuring out where they want to go to college. Dotson could go to one…

NAT’L – SHOOTING SPORTS – Trap Shooting With Pastors

There were a dozen of us in that small beige room in Morton, Illinois. We were in a stone building, which sat just beyond the Walmart, where the town diffuses into farmland. The building is now the home of the Rural Home Missionary Association, a non-profit dedicated to training and equipping pastors to work and live in rural areas. Ron Klassen stands at the front of the room,…

PA – SHOOTING SPORTS – Pennsylvania’s wild bunch spend weekends shooting guns in Cowboy garb

Something’s a bit off about Tom Payne, a rancher who laid down his badge to reap the easy life out West. He’s got the look down — leather boots, chaps, even the old, reliable Winchester rifle — but when Payne speaks, he sounds a lot more like Tom Colaluca, a guy who’s barely a hundred miles west of the Bronx. Turns out this cowboy had rustled up…
