Dust off the shotgun for dove hunting
SC TIMES.COM – Many hunters prepare for the small-game season in Minnesota each year by shooting rounds of clay pigeons at clubs and fields across the state.
While this is a great way to get back into the swing of things after keeping the shotgun in a safe for months, it can’t beat the thrill of downing a bird that can fly at speeds up to 55 mph and can seemingly dodge out of the way of where you are aiming. Minnesota has had a mourning dove hunting season since 2004, but few hunters of other upland bird species have begun to target these fast-flying, delicious birds.
