Guidefitter Releases Summer Journal

AUSTIN, Texas (August 16, 2017)- Guidefitter, the ultimate online hub for outdoor adventures, today announced that it has released the summer issue of The Guidefitter Journal, marking one full publication cycle of the first and only publication of its kind. The Guidefitter Journal is a trade publication specifically written for professional hunting and fishing guides and outfitters, and Guidefitter published the first issue in the fall of 2016.

Guidefitter makes its reader the utmost priority, by sending out surveys to gauge the success of each journal. With a 4.5 out of 5-star reader rating on every issue, The Guidefitter Journal delivers valuable content to assist and entertain professional guides, outfitters, charter boat captains or lodge owners. With such a high user rating, it’s clear this is the journal the industry was missing.

“We created the Guidefitter Journal in order to provide pro guides and outfitters with the best resource for their industry,” said Bryan Koontz, Guidefitter CEO. “We realized there were plenty of hunting and fishing magazines on the market, but no trade publications focused on helping make guides and outfitters more successful at their trade or their business overall, so we created it for them. And almost a year later, I’m proud that we’ve maintained our 4.5 star rating, and look forward to the second year of the Journal!”

Summer Journal readers can expect to explore long-range shooting insights from Tim Fallon, owner of FTW Ranch, to the story behind long-range brands, MOA Rifles and Rugged Ridge, and an overview of the new ZEISS Conquest V6 riflescope. Not to mention glassing tips from retired Leica Sport Optics VP, Terry Moore.

Columns offering sage business advice—The Front Door (how to get clients in), Back Office (how to manage the behind-the-scenes) and Client Experience—can be found in each issue, including the Summer Journal. Fan favorite ‘Crazy Client’ stories continue to entertain, while this issue’s By The Numbers infographic focuses on non-resident hunters and the money they spend pursuing their passion.

The Fall issue is expected to look to the future, as it focuses on the latest technology available in the industry, new ideas in guide recruitment and opportunities that guides and outfitters likely didn’t know even existed.

Here’s what some readers have said about the Guidefitter Journal:

• “Fun to read and pick up a pointer or two, even though I’ve been in business 40 years!”
• “My favorite thing about the Journal is getting a different perspective about the business I’ve been in for 33 years.”
• “Everything seems to be relevant to the industry. No fluff!”
