WASHINGTON POST July 14, 2017 – Every year on July 14, France celebrates its national holiday, commemorating the storming of the Bastille in 1789. The festivities include fireworks, dances — and a military procession through Paris. Ironically, it was fear of the French army that first led Parisians to storm the Bastille.
