PA – HUNTING – Dixon’s Gunmakers Fair caters to muzzleloader aficionados

It is no secret that muzzleloading firearms hold significant interest in Pennsylvania and across the country. One look at the hunting and shooting section of a well-stocked magazine rack will reveal numerous specialty covers devoted to black powder guns, accessories and their historical times. In Pennsylvania, the popularity of hunting with a “smoke-pole” has continued to be strong, with separate seasons for original style black powder guns (flintlocks) and the modern versions (in-line) fired by percussion caps, even topped with modern scopes. There’s no better proof of this popularity than the annual Gunmaker’s Fair at Dixon’s Muzzleloading Shop in Kempton.
