Roast Turkey, Fried Turkey, Turkey Soup; It’s all Good
This time of year I’m thinking Thanksgiving. Not just for what I’ve had, what I still have – my life, for instance – but for the ever upcoming holiday late next month. It means many thing to many people. But I confess, my thoughts mostly extricate themselves from the daily routine and think ahead of roast turkey, mashed potatoes slathered with butter and drowned in gravy, veggies of different sorts, green peas, chopped pineapple and cabbage in lime Jello, fresh baked rolls and a bunch of other delicacies summed up in apple pie – apples right off the tree outside – and ice cream. For days thereafter comes either fried turkey or turkey leftovers and a full week ending in turkey soup. Thank you Lord for these blessings.
