BREAKING :
ACCORDING TO GUN PROHIBITIONISTS, EUROPE IS MUCH SAFER THAN THE UNITED STATES, BECAUSE EUROPE HAS STRICTER GUN CONTROL. IN FACT, THE HISTORICAL RECORD SHOWS THAT EXCESSIVE GUN CONTROL (AS IN EUROPE) IS ABOUT A HUNDRED TIMES MORE DEADLY THAN "INSUFFICIENT" GUN CONTROL (AS, SUPPOSEDLY, IN THE U.S.). WHILE A LONE CRIMINAL WITH A GUN CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS, A CRIMINAL GOVERNMENT WITH A DISARMED POPULATION IS THE DEADLIEST THING ON EARTH, SAYS AUTHOR.POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS WHO STOLE NEARLY 40 GUNS FROM A RAPID CITY GUN SHOP. VA – GUN CONTROL – As demand for DIY, serial number-less ‘ghost guns’ rises, so does demand for tougher laws (VIDEO)

To the untrained eye, two black, square-bodied 9mm pistols, side-by-side, look nearly indistinguishable. But a closer look reveals a difference. One has no serial number, and it was made at home from a kit. It’s called a ghost gun. And it’s rapidly becoming a weapon of choice for criminals from California to Maryland. According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, 30% of all guns recovered at crime scenes in California in 2019 had no serial numbers. And the number of these “invisible” weapons used in crimes is climbing. On November 14, 2019 in Santa Clarita, California, a 16-year-old used a ghost gun to kill two classmates at Saugus High School before turning the weapon on himself. On December 3, 2019 in Syracuse, New York, a man with a ghost gun, shot and critically wounded his six-year-old nephew. And on August 23, 2018 in Washington, D.C. 25-year old Travis Barksdale was shot and killed by a man wielding a ghost gun. The numbers tell the story. Last year, D.C. police recovered 115 ghost guns, compared to just 26 the year before, and only 3 in 2017. And while ghost guns accounted for roughly 5% of the approximate 1,900 guns seized in DC in 2019, they account for at least 8% so far in 2020, with 33 seized in the first six weeks of the year. So, what makes a gun a ghost gun? Under federal law, it’s legal to make a gun for personal use. Some gun dealers have made that easy. For $500 to $600 you can buy kits online that include nearly everything you need to build a working firearm. They’re called “80% kits” and as the name implies, it includes 80% of a working weapon – including the lower-receiver – which is the most vital part of a gun, housing essentials like the hammer and trigger. The kits require some additional machining and parts to build a working firearm. Those parts, like the trigger, barrel and firing-pin can be purchased on line. By all accounts, assembling the weapon doesn’t take a lot of skill or time if you have the right tools.  [full article]
