WA – MILITARY – Stryker Brigade’s Live-Fire Training Will Continue Through Sunday

Live-fire training at Joint Base Lewis-McChord involving a Stryker Brigade Combat Team will continue through the rest of the week. Increased noise should be expected to continue at least through Sunday, July 28. The company-level training event began July 13, creating a consistent din across the training areas south of JBLM Main’s cantonment area during both day and nighttime hours. The training has included gunfire from rifles and machine guns, as well as mortars, artillery, demolitions, and vehicle-mounted weapons. More than 10 infantry companies in the Stryker brigade are required to complete the training exercise before the brigade is deployed to the National Training Center in California, officials said. Any questions or comments about the training and associated noise can be directed to the JBLM Public Affairs office by calling 253-967-0852 or sending an email to usarmy.jblm.imcom.mbx.pao-public@mail.mil.
