Sometimes blows to the cerebral cortex just aren’t enough to show our appreciation.
The United States Supreme Court is not well. That’s the
diagnosis of Democrat Senators Sheldon Whitehouse,
Mazie Hirono, Richard Blumenthal, Richard Durbin and Kirsten Gillibrand who
took to the airwaves and their media pals to tell the SCOTUS to take an aspirin
then call them in the morning. The court’s sickness, apparently, is that it
intends to hear a gun case involving the City of New York – which at this point
has begged the court with a “pretty please” to exclude hearing a lawsuit in
October brought by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association – and a dumb
law which prohibits a NYC gun owner from transporting a gun, even unloaded
and/or separate from ammunition, outside the city limits in order to practice
with it at another gun range.
In an amicus court brief, the
Dems complained that the case was actually just “hypothetical” and should not
be taking up the court’s valuable time. “Anyways,” they concluded, the City of
New York has voluntarily amended that stupid law – I think “tossed” is the
operative word, here – to now allow gun owners to ignore the city’s “oops”
screw-up and lock ‘n load all the way to just about anywhere in the state they
wish to go. Previously, fear had set in after the court agreed with the
plaintiff NYSRPA to hear the complaint and that struck the ten ring where it
hurts the most: the anti-gun liberals’ wish to advance their gun control
objectives and nullify the Second Amendment.
The Wall Street Journal reported
this morning that the ”left-wing website ThinkProgress notes with approval”
that “the brief amounts to a “declaration of war” against the conservative Justices
that essentially describes the Supreme Court as “dominated by political hacks
selected by the Federalist Society.”
Please, people, send the Dumbs
some hugs and kisses to go with their thoughts and prayers. We’ll never be able
to thank them enough.
The Supreme Court may be stuck between a political rock and a hard place
